8 Students Injured in Armed Attack Outside High School in Turkey

Al-Taj News – Turkish local media reported that gunfire occurred outside a high school in western Turkey on Tuesday morning, leaving 8 students injured.

Private television channel NTV reported that the attack took place in the Turgutlu district of Manisa Province. The governorate said in a statement that the attack occurred in an area near İnci Özmez Anatolian Vocational and Technical High School.

The statement said, “According to preliminary information, 8 people were injured in the incident, and the injured were taken to the nearest health center.” The governorate also announced the arrest of the suspect who carried out the attack.

According to preliminary reports, a suspect randomly opened fire with a firearm in front of the school for an unknown reason. The 112 Emergency Call Center received a report that students had been injured during the attack.

Following the report, numerous police and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene. After reviewing surveillance camera footage, security forces arrested the attacker and detained him. A judicial and administrative investigation into the incident has been opened.
